How we score ourselves

Every call is written the day it is made and marked against the live tape five sessions later, under the methodology version it was published with (BUY correct at +1.0% or more, SELL at −1.0% or less, HOLD when the absolute return is under 1.0%). Nothing is backfilled and nothing is rescored.

Beside our own record is a no-change baseline: a forecaster that assumes the price does not move, which publishes HOLD on every row and is graded by the same function on the same rows. Most five-session moves are small, so that baseline scores well while knowing nothing. Our figure is only worth reading as the difference from it.
